“In the year 2008, I met my husband Auguy for the very first time at the main office entrance of SOCOTRANS, the company I was working for in Pointe-Noire, Congo Brazzaville. That moment, though simple, would change my life forever. The first words he ever said to me were, “I like the way you are and who you are.” I remember being taken aback, thinking he was just joking. Curious, I asked him what he meant, and he looked at me and replied, “There is something about you that I cannot explain.” At the end of our brief conversation, he asked for my phone number. I hesitated at first unsure if I should give it to him but something inside me said, “Why not?” So, we exchanged numbers. From that day on, we started chatting almost every day. What began as casual conversations slowly turned into a deep connection. Just a few months later, one day while he was on the phone with his mother, to my complete surprise, he introduced me to her. That moment changed everything for me. I realized that this man was truly serious about me. It was no longer just a friendship or a new connection; it was something real. Since then, we have been inseparable. Auguy is not only my husband, but also my best friend, my confidant, and my greatest support. He continues to be a source of love, strength, and comfort in my life. In 2011 we got married and moved to the USA. After 12 years of marriage god blessed with our beautiful daughter, Abby. She is a daily reminder of the love we share and the journey we began so unexpectedly back in 2008. Looking back, I’m so grateful I listened to that little voice that nudged me to give him my number. It was the beginning of a beautiful love story that continues to unfold every day.”
“In the Year 2007, SOCO International offered me a Petroleum Engineering Regional Manager Job in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo. My New Office was located in the 3rd Floor of SOCOTRANS Building where Several Oil & Gas Companies such as MI SWACO had their offices. Fredhia was working for another company (SOCOTRANS) as Maritime Shipping Customs Agent at the First floor. The First Floor was L shaped, so every day from my office in the 3rd floor I could see Fredhia at her Desk in the First floor, that when I first noticed Fredhia. Every day at around lunch time, all building employees will come out for lunch, but every time I wanted to reach out to her, she was either entering or leaving her office with no way to reach her. It was always when I was parking my car that she will be entering her office, entering a taxi, or when I was coming out of the office. This strange Situation became very common and lasted for more than 3 months, that I had to share the story with my friends at work, nicknaming her “My Mysterious Girl” One of my friend at the time referred to her as the “Disappearing Girl”. The First thing that I noticed when I First saw Fredhia was the sudden change in my Heart Beat Frequency, and besides her Relaxing Beauty what attracted me the most was her Calm Demeanor and Self-confidence. One Day, on the 08 of January 2008, just after lunch I saw Fredhia standing at the main entrance door just as I was parking my car. That D-Day, January 08, Fredhia Stood Still at that main entrance as if she was waiting for somebody, and that the day I first approached her. We started talking and from that day and I will make sure Pizza was delivered at her office at every lunch time. Two months later, around March 2008, while on the Phone with my mom in Portugal, I introduced Fredhia to my mother, saying; “Mother, I think I find the One I was looking for”, and that very day Fredhia talked to my mother on the phone also. Three years later on June 30, 20011, Fredhia and I realized our Traditional Wedding in Pointe Noire. In 2022, 14 Years later after our first encounter, God of the Army of Christ blessed us with our Miracle Baby called Abdielle Evangeline Agostinho (Abby). Today 17 years later, here we are for the religious celebration.”
From a chance encounter in 2008, our love story unfolded. Auguy's sincere words and a heartfelt introduction to his mother sealed our commitment. We married in 2011, moved to the USA, and welcomed our daughter, Abby, in 2022. Today, we celebrate 17 years of a beautiful journey.
